Asset divestment is currently on hold until Mid 2026
In the process of Divesting the RV Endeavor, NSF assets will be offered to the Academic Research Fleet. The ultimate divestment will be based on demonstration of need. To request assets, complete a shopping cart (1 per institution), and submit the order. All equipment transfers are at the discretion of the NSF Oceanographic Technical Services Program Director.
Asset distribution will take place in three phases.
Early 2026 - Distribution of OI Shared-Use (Tech Services) equipment no longer needed to operate RV Endeavor or RV Narragansett Dawn.
Mid 2026 - Distribution of SSSE (Ship Operations) items which will be salvaged once RV Endeavor reaches her final destination. This includes items such as bridge electronics, lifesaving equipment, and engineering tools.
Late 2027 - Equipment retained by URI for the RV Narragansett Dawn which was not needed.
